Hello
I’m Alex, the optometrist behind The Eyes Inc in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. My work focuses on helping people who are struggling with progressive lens discomfort, eye strain, double vision, binocular vision issues, and other visual problems that often need more than just a routine prescription update.
Across my service pages, my focus areas are binocular vision, prism spectacles, progressive lens discomfort, and visual comfort. That is really the heart of what I do — helping people see more clearly and more comfortably in daily life.
My Story
I don’t believe good vision is only about reading the smallest line on a chart. For me, it is also about how comfortable your eyes feel when you read, use a laptop, work at a desktop, drive, or go through your normal day.
That is why my approach always starts with understanding why your current vision feels uncomfortable. Sometimes the issue is not just the prescription. Sometimes it is the lens design, the fitting, the way both eyes are working together, or the type of visual work you do every day.
Public profiles identify me as Optometrist | Founder at The Eyes Inc, and that is exactly how I see my role — not just to prescribe glasses, but to build a practice that helps people solve visual discomfort more carefully and more honestly
What I Help People With
Progressive lens discomfort
A lot of people come to me because their progressive lenses just do not feel right. Sometimes they feel dizzy. Sometimes the reading zone feels too narrow. Sometimes computer use becomes tiring. Sometimes they were told to “just get used to it,” but the discomfort never really goes away.
At The Eyes Inc, I look at why your current progressive lenses feel uncomfortable and which lens design may be more suitable for your prescription, working distance, and daily routine. My goal is not just to sell another pair of glasses, but to help you end up with something that feels clearer and more comfortable in real life.
Eye strain and visual fatigue
If you have headaches, tired eyes, focusing difficulty, or discomfort after reading or screen use, I take that seriously. Eye strain is not always just “too much screen time.” In some cases, the real issue may be how your eyes are working together, not just how much you are using them.
When I assess eye strain cases, I look at prescription factors, binocular vision, phoria, prism suitability, and your daily visual habits. That helps me recommend solutions based on what is actually causing the discomfort, rather than giving a generic answer.
Double vision and prism spectacles
I also help people who are experiencing double vision, shadowy vision, or binocular vision discomfort. In these cases, the process may involve assessing how both eyes work together, identifying the direction and degree of misalignment, reviewing previous glasses or prism history, and deciding whether prism spectacles are likely to help.
I believe in being clear and honest. If spectacles are unlikely to help, I would rather explain that properly than push a solution that is not right for you.
Binocular vision and visual comfort
A big part of my work is assessing how the eyes work together. This includes looking beyond routine refraction and paying attention to things like ocular motility, binocular vision, and how visual comfort changes across different tasks. That extra layer often matters in cases where someone has already tried glasses elsewhere but still does not feel comfortable.
How I Work
My approach is simple: I try to understand the problem before recommending the solution.
That usually means starting with your current symptoms, your daily visual needs, your screen use, and your previous glasses. From there, I may review fitting details, prescription factors, working distance, and how your eyes are functioning together. Only then do I recommend what I think is most suitable for your comfort and daily life.
At The Eyes Inc, I have built the process around being practical and problem-solving. If something is causing discomfort, I want to know what it is. If a lens design is not right for your needs, I want to explain why. And if there is a better option for the way you work and live, I want to help you find it.
Why People Visit Me at The Eyes Inc
Most people who come to see me are not just looking for “a new pair of glasses”. They are often looking for answers.
Some have tried progressives before and could not adapt. Some are tired of headaches and eye strain during work. Some are seeing double or having trouble with shadowy vision. Some simply feel that their current glasses are not giving them the comfort they expected.
What I try to offer is a more careful, more tailored, and more honest approach — one that looks at the reason behind the discomfort instead of jumping straight to a quick fix.
A Personal Note
I believe comfortable vision makes a real difference to everyday life. It affects how you read, work, focus, move around, and get through the day without unnecessary strain.
That is why I care a lot about getting the details right. Whether it is progressive lens fitting, eye strain assessment, prism suitability, or simply figuring out why your current glasses do not feel right, my goal is always the same: to help you see more comfortably in a way that fits your life.
If your glasses still do not feel right, or if you feel like your eyes are working harder than they should, reach out to me through The Eyes Inc and let’s find out what may be going on.
